I have received a lot of enquiry after the big Tsunami disaster in South Asia on 26th December 2004. Many students and feng shui enthusiasts are asking what feng shui factors have contributed to such disaster. So I feel it is necessary to make a brief explanation.

For a catastrophe of such magnitude, it is not difficult to see hints from the Four Pillars of that moment of time. This point I have demonstrated in the previous articles about the 911 tragedy and the Titanic tragedy. Now let us look at the moment when the earthquake occurred in Sumatra, Indonesia, the time is between 8 to 9 am on 26th December 2004.

26th December is an earth day in the winter month of powerful water. And on this day the earth sits on the Rabbit wood which is conquering the earth and make it unstable. This year 2004 is year of wood metal and both elements are exhausting the earth. And this month December has fire shows up on top but this fire sits on water has no power. Further more, 26th December is already well passed the mid month. So the Fire in the Heavenly stem of the month has very minor effect. Hence that day shows the earth is very weak and unstable and this reflected the chance of earthquake. The Rabbit day is in penalty with the Rat month. This may have triggered hidden danger underneath the earth.

The earthquake occurred in the hour of the Dragon between 8 to 9 am. The Dragon is earth element but the Dragon is also considered as the storage of water. This Dragon, combines with the metal Monkey in the year, and the Rat water in the month, is a powerful combination of water. Hence it is not only earthquake but powerful water is present resulting in big water disaster. The three combine, Monkey, Rat, and Dragon is the strongest water combination in the system of Earthly Branches, with Monkey representing the birth place of water, Rat being the most prosperous position of water, and Dragon symbolises the storage of water. Such combinations are often associated with big water disasters such as the day of the Titanic tragedy. Readers can refer to my previous article on this Tragedy occurred on 14th April, 1912. It was a Rat year, Dragon month, Monkey day and Rat hour..

In respect of Flying stars feng shui, there are several factors we can examine. Firstly, this is year of the Monkey, the Three Shars position is in the South ( SE3, S2 and SW1 ) and these are mostly the South Asian areas attacked by earthquake and Tsunami. In the Month of the Rat – December, the Three Shars is also in the South. The following is the Flying star chart of the day 26th December, 2004. The stars in the centre are year star 5, month star 1, day star 7.

It is obvious that the pair of bad stars 2 and 5 concentrated in the south on 26th December, and as they are earth elements, the magnitude of their bad influence is intensified by the presence of fire star 9. Also in the centre there is 5 and 1, 5 is misfortune, 1 is water, we can also interpret it as potential water disaster in this month.

From Feb. 2004 we have just stepped into “Age of 8” and we cannot ignore there is also influence of the “Age of 8” chart at play behind the about year, month and day stars. The “Age of 8” flying star chart shows number 3, the star representing thunder and earthquake is also present in the South. As such this is more or less one of the factors contributing to this event.

THE FOUR PILLARS AND I CHING OF THE SECOND GULF WAR

“Saddam Hussein – He is a weak Wood person and he needs support of Water and Wood. As such, the strong Fire in the year of the Horse, as well as the strong Earth in the year of the Goat are not favorable. The Goat is dry Earth – symbolizing the desert. And it is exactly in the last year of the Goat in 1991 that he was driven out of Kuwait in the Gulf War. Therefore the Goat year in 2003 may stimulate another Gulf War. Especially he is born in the year of the Ox, which is in clash against the year of the Goat, showing turbulence come to him in 2003. Such clash, in addition to his current bad luck of Earth element could lead to his final downfall.”

The above paragraph is what I have put up in the South China Morning Post website – www.scmp.com in their 2003 Chinese New Year special feature. During an interview by the CNN on new year eve, I also mentioned the same opinion and this was reported in Hong Kong newspaper Apple Daily on Chinese new year day on 1^st of February. At that time many people still believed that the war against Iraq could be avoided.

My prediction is made on the basis of President Saddam Hussein’s birthday, which is known to be 28/4/1937. The following is his three pillars of destiny; his birth hour is not known.

Destiny Pillars: This chart shows President Saddam Hussein’s birthday in terms of the five elements. The grouping of the elements, known as the Heavenly Stems (on top) & Earthly Branches (on bottom) can then be used to describe him and predict his future.

Luck Pillars: This chart represents the elemental influences in President Saddam Hussein’s destiny based on each ten-year period. Starting at the top of the chart: each Luck pillar consist of a ten-year period, the age when Saddam Hussein will start coming under the influence of that period, and the 2 elements known as the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches.

Saddam is a yin Wood person born in the month of April at the end of spring when Wood is getting weak. There is totally absence of Water in his know three pillars in the Year, Month and Day. As such, it is very obvious that his Wood self-element is weak and he needs the support of Water and Wood. And Fire and Earth elements will be unfavorable, as they will exhaust his Wood energy. At the present age of 65, Saddam is in a luck pillar of Earth Dog, with heavy Earth over Earth element. This is bad luck. The current year is Goat, which is Earth year adding pressure on him. Also he is born in the year of the Ox which not only in clash against the year of the Goat, but also forms a “Three Penalty” with Ox, Goat and Dog come together in the same year. As such, it is easy to see he is into a very dangerous year.

The last Gulf war took place in 1991, which is also a year of the Goat. And the clash between the Goat year and Saddam’s Ox drove him away from Kuwait. But at that time, 12 years ago, he was still in good luck in the luck pillar of the Water pig. Obviously this Water element saved his life. However, today, he is in the luck pillar of the Earth Dog, so it will need a miracle to help him escape this bad luck. In my book “Feng Shui and Destiny for Families” I have analyzed the tragedy of Lady Diana and mentioned that Lady Diana is a weak Wood lady and she died in a bad luck pillar of Earth Dog, which is very similar to Saddam Hussein’s situation today. Lady Diana died in a tunnel – trapped in Earth element. It will not be surprising that Saddam will face the similar circumstance, surrounded in Earth in his final days.

I have also done a few I Ching Divination about the outbreak of the Decapitation Strike and the fate of Saddam. It is interesting to show them here for readers who are also interested in the subject:

1. Subject is Saddam Hussein and he sits on an Earth element, which is getting weak in the month of Jan. Also the Dragon is “void” element on the day of performing this I Ching. It means Saddam is vulnerable and weak.

2. The active second line is Wood, which is active to attack Saddam’s Earth element. Implying he will be under attack in 2003 and this attack is likely to happen in the Wood season – Spring.

3. The active second line is Tiger Wood change into Rabbit Wood. This is called “Advance” meaning the attack is more serious. And it could mean massive attack in the Rabbit month – March 2003.

4. The change in the second line results in a total clash Hexagram, this is very clear indication of war.

5. The strong active line in the inner trigram can also imply there is attack from behind, from within Iraq.

Comment: The above I Ching is very accurate and the US launched the “Decapitation attack” in March 2003 – month of the Rabbit.

1. Subject line is USA which is active Metal monkey attacking the object line Wood, symbolizing Iraq. So it confirms the attack will take place soon. However, the USA Metal is not in season and is weak in the Rabbit month March. Iraq is Wood, which is very strong in March. As such, the strike will have difficulty and USA will suffer casualty.

2. The Subject line is active Metal change into Water and such Water is Money supporting the Wood element of the Object line – Iraq. This match
well with President Bush speech on the day of attack - offering money to rebuilt Iraq.

3. In the Upper Trigram, the 5^th line is active Fire, which attacks the subject line Metal (USA). It means there is oppositions against USA – world wide antiwar movements against the US attack. However, this movement cannot stop the attack as it results in Earth element, which continues to support the Metal subject line.

4. The Object Line Wood – symbolizing Iraq – is active and this represents resistance against the Metal attack. However, it is a line changing from Rabbit Wood to Tiger Wood, this is backward movement in the sequence of the 12 animals and is a symbol of “Retreat”. This could mean a chance of Iraq surrendering.

5. Iraq the Object line is strong in Spring, especially in Rabbit Month March. As such, it seems the strong resistance will be present in the Rabbit Month and USA cannot accomplish her goal before the Rabbit month expires on 5^th April – the Chinese Ching Ming Festival.

Comment: This I Ching was performed in front of a class of over 20 students in Singapore on 16/3/2003 when the USA attack has not yet started. And the outcome very clearly reflected the development of affair coming immediately afterwards. This also matches well with my analysis of President Saddam Hussein’s Four Pillars above. Being a weak Wood person, he is still under strong support in March, in the middle of the spring Wood season. However, this Wood support will gradually fade away when the strong Earth elements arrives in April.

“ATTACK ON AMERICA & DESTINY"

On the evening of September 11^th I was in Melbourne, Australia, in my hotel room with friends. We were chatting with the TV on, the volume was turned down to almost the silent mode. Suddenly something on the TV screen captured my attention. It was the picture of two tall buildings with heavy fire and smoke on top, like 2 large candles. I turned up the sound and was totally shocked by the terrible attack on the World Trade Center's Twin Towers in New York City.

The Chinese calendar is a calendar of elements. Any moment of time can be expressed in terms of four pairs of elements: two elements for the Year, two for the Month, two for the Day and two for the Hour. We called this art the Four Pillars of Destiny. If the moment of time represents the birth data of a child, these elements will reflect his destiny. But if something really serious occurred at such a moment of time, the elements will paint a symbolic picture of what happened. In one of my previous articles, widely distributed on the Internet, I have use April 14, 1912 at 11:40 p.m. - the moment when the Titanic clashed with the iceberg. This demonstrates that the Chinese calendar at this moment clearly shows the picture of a metal ship colliding with a floating mountain on the starboard side.

Now the tragedy that occurred in New York City on September 11, 2001 at 8:45 a.m. is definitely a huge event in human history, so let’s look it up in the Chinese calendar and see what shows up at that fateful moment of time. The following is the Four Pillars of Destiny elements obtained by converting the tragic moment into the Chinese calendar.

The elements appearing on top are called Heavenly Stems, and the elements underneath are called Earthly Branches. The calendar shows two Yin Fire elements standing on the Month and Day pillars. Yang Fire is a symbol of the Sun; Yin Fire is a symbol of candlelight. It is the more unstable and dangerous fire. So it is often associated with hot tempers, explosions and fire disasters. The Chinese character for Yin Fire looks like a “T” and I often compare this “T” to the shape of a mushroom cloud resulted from a huge explosion. Indeed, I have observed that big explosions and fire disasters often occur on such a "T" day. An obvious example is August 6, 1945 when the first atomic bomb fell on Hiroshima. This is also a "T" day, a Yin Fire day.

On September 11, 2001 the Chinese calendar shows a double "T". It is not just one Tower, but two Towers on fire. Exactly like 2 ignited candles. The attack took place at 8.45 a.m. which is a Wood Hour, and such wood ignited the double Yin Fire.

On the Year pillar, there is a Metal element standing. On the Earthly Branches underneath, the animals we see are Snake, Rooster, Ox and Snake. In Four Pillars of Destiny, the 12 animals have various kinds of inter-relationships. The Snake, Rooster and Ox all belong to the Metal family and they can combine to form total Metal. So the picture I see is a Metal element under Fire attack, and such Metal element stood on a strong Metal foundation. What is such strong Metal to do with the Twin Towers? I realized after reading some articles about the structure of these 2 buildings, which they are actually made of plenty of steel, which conduct the heat quickly down from the top causing the metal to deform and melt. Such a metal structural design is considered as the cause for the total collapse of both Towers quickly after the attack.

So just as the Titanic elements clearly reflected the collision of the ship and the cause of serious casualty due to absence of heat (Fire), on September 11, 2001 the elements also shows that the buildings are mostly made of metal so they collapsed quickly. I found it really amazing!

The September 11th event is a huge tragedy in human history and it is an event worthy of many studies from various angles. Just through looking at the Chinese calendar, we can find more indications. 2001 is a year of the Yin Metal Snake. So these pair of elements is obviously in focus this year. Indeed, the pair of elements actually pointed out the two most important persons of the year: President George W. Bush, born on July 6, 1946 and Osama Bin Laden, born on March 10, 1957. If you covert their birthdays into the Chinese calendar, you will find they are born exactly on a day of Yin Metal Snake!

In my forecast for 2002, the year of the Horse, published in "The Chinese Almanac for 2002", I have predicted “The Year of the Horse, 2002… Fire is sitting underneath its destroyer – Water, is a symbol of disharmony and conflict and this may be serious and will lead to war... This could be the sign of a large-scale war… It is not easy to pinpoint where the war will break out. But the Feng Shui of 2002 indicated that East is not a favorable position. So the trouble could involve the East.” The Chinese calendar system goes in 60 years cycle. That means the world will experience the same pair of elements every 60 years. The Pearl Harbour attack occurred in 1941, sixty years ago. People have already compared the World Trade Center's attack to the Pearl Harbour attack. In 1942, the whole world was involved in the Second World War. So sixty years later 2002, we can expect the whole world will be into a World War also. But now it looks likely that it will be the whole world against terrorism, not countries fighting against each other.

The Attack on America on September 11, 2001 is the most horrible acts of terrorism in human history. Being a keen researcher and practitioner of Chinese metaphysics, I firmly believe that we should be able to understand such significant event by metaphysical means. In my previous article, I have already explained how the system of Four Pillars of Destiny reflected the disaster on that day. Now let us examine the event with another instrument – Flying Star Feng Shui.

Flying Star Feng Shui is the system of Chinese Classical Feng Shui that studies how our environment and fortune are affected by various energies, which are changing over time and space. In this system, we focus our attention on 9 different kinds of energies, identified by numbers 1 to 9. We also understand each energy has special properties, some will bring prosperity and some will bring misfortune. These energies are dynamic and moving constantly over time in a fix pattern. As such, their position and impact at a certain moment of time is predictable.

Take for example, the worst energy is number 5, which means misfortune, and it is present in the Southwest location in the current year, The Year of the Snake. The Southwest location refers to the Southwest of a house, an apartment, a building, a city, or a country. There are also different levels of Flying Stars. Besides the Year Star, which affects us for one whole year, like number 5 in the Southwest during the entire year of the Snake, we also have Month Stars and Day Stars, which will have influence on our lives for a Month, or a Day respectively. As such, at a certain day, in a certain location, there are 3 stars present. If they are all bad stars, then misfortune may happen in such location on such day. The following chart is called a Nine Square Chart. Each square shows a direction, and the number in the center shows the Year star, Month star, and Day star present in a direction on a certain day. The Nine Square Chart for September 11, 2001 is as follows: (Fig1)

This is an energy chart showing what kind of Flying Star was present in different directions on September 11th. To a trained eye, we will pay attention to the 5 first, as it is a Star of Misfortune. The first important location is NE, where there is concentration of 2, 7, 5. What does this mean? The 5 is Misfortune, 2 and 7 combined means Fire, and 2 and 5 combined means Death and Disaster. So on this day, bad things will occur in the NE of a Country. If we look at the map, you see that all the planes were launched from airports in the Northeast, all aimed at Northeasterly targets. The American Airline Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of World Trade Center from the NE.

Another direction to look at is SW – the year Star 5 is present there the whole year round, 5 is an Earth element, and on that day, another Star 8 is also present in the SW, 8 is also Earth, so it reinforces the 5. So Southwest has significance too. Like the Pentagon is in the SW of the White House, and it got hit from the SW direction. World Trade Center’s Towers are in the SW of Manhattan, and the United Airline Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower from the SW.

Then there are accumulations of bad stars 9, 5, 3 in the Northwest also. The 9 is Fire, 3 is Conflict and 5 is Misfortune. If you look at the map of New York City, the World Trade Center is actually in the NW of Manhattan.

Why does this occur in to the USA, but not in another country? Of course there are many historical and social factors, as well as human factors such as the destiny of President George W Bush. But purely looking from the Feng Shui angle, we usually use the Feng Shui of the White House as reference for the fortune of USA. The building is facing North, and on September 11th, the Stars in the North are 4, 7, 9. The pair of Stars 7 and 9 symbolizes a Fire disaster, and the remaining number 4 is Wood, which stimulates Fire as well. Hence the Stars at the front door of the White House spelled Fire disaster on that day.

But why did the White House itself escape the Fire? One reason is that, the Feng Shui of the White House is still prosperous. Besides this, I think the Flying Stars combination also saved her. It is a combination of 4, 7 and 9. When stars go in pairs, they have special meaning also, like 7 and 9 means Fire, but 4 and 9 means Metal. And this Metal is very much help to reduce the power of Fire. For students who already have a fair understand of Flying Star Feng Shui, we can also say we are in Age of 7, so 7 mean current prosperity, and it is a Metal number, so the 4 and 9 metal combination reinforce the good fortune of 7. So the White House itself can escape this disaster.

We have examined the over all Feng Shui on that day and how they stimulate the disaster. However, the strength of Feng Shui is to evaluate the buildings. So we cannot fully understand the events without a careful examination of the Feng Shui of the buildings involved, the Pentagon and the World Trade Center.

The Pentagon was built in 1942 which in Feng Shui terms is an “Age of 4 “ building. From the pictures and drawings, the building appears to face South. The following is a Flying Star Chart of the building. This is an energy map constructed on basis of the age and the direction of the building. The numbers show the distribution of energies in different directions of his building: (Fig2)

How to read such chart? The emphasis is more on the pair of numbers on top of each square. They represent 2 types of energies in each location. The number on the right is called “Water Star” representing money prosperity. The number on the left is called “Mountain Star”, representing human harmony. In Flying Star Feng Shui, time is divided into 20-year cycles. Each cycle carries a number. The current 20-year cycle is called “Age of 7” so the number 7 represents the most prosperous energy today. But “Age of 7” is going to expire by Feb. 2004. Thereafter “Age of 8” will take over, so the number 8 is even more important today as it represents the immediate in-coming energy.

If we look at the Flying Star Chart of the Pentagon, the prosperous star 8 is in the center, this is where the strongest good energy is present. Normally, a good star in the center is called “Imprisonment” which is not good, as it is trapped and cannot come out to contact the outside world. But in the case of the Pentagon, the Center is a large open yard, so the Star 8 is “released from prison” and is very active, offering very strong prosperity.

The next thing we will examine is the entrance, if it is in the South, we see the bad star 3, which is an outdated star means conflict and robbery. Having such bad star at the entrance is not good, but if such entrance can be directly linked up with the center, then it is not too bad. The idea is 3 and 8 is a pair of related numbers like husband and wife (Hoto number). So if there is no separation between the entrance and the center, the 3 can still bring prosperity. However, I cannot verify this, as I have not found a detailed plan of the Pentagon.

Now let us see what happened on September 11th, referring back to the Year, Month and Day chart (Fig. 1), the stars present at the South entrance are 3, 8, 6. So this year, there is an additional 3 present, meaning more conflict and robbery. Indeed, we have observed there are more conflicts in the U.S. foreign affairs this year. Like the April 1st air crash with China, at that time, we also see a pair of 3 and 5 at the South entrance to the Pentagon.

The Stars 3, 8, 6 present in the South gate on September can be interpreted as stimulating trouble. The 3 is the Wood element and means conflict and robbery, 3 and 8 is a pair of Wood number, reinforcing the 3. The 6 is legal problem and it is Metal attacking the Wood, hence further stimulate the bad energy of 3. So there is Misfortune on that day. The Attack happened to be at the weakest location of the Pentagon – the SW, the Flying Star Chart of the Pentagon shows the Stars there are 3 and 5, both are bad numbers, and the year star 5 in the current year triggers the misfortune.

The World Trade Center buildings are completed in the 1970’s, so it is considered an “Age of 6” building. It consists of two tall Towers and other shorter buildings. From the site plan, I can see there is a big open space with something like a round shaped fountain between the two Towers. I will consider this is the “Ming Tang” meaning the open lobby of the buildings. So I will put the North Tower as facing SE, back against the Hudson River in the NW, and the South Tower as facing NE, facing the fountain, back against the SW.

It is not possible to measure the orientation of the buildings anymore. Measure from various maps, I will use NW1 – SW1 for North Tower, and SW1 – NE 1 for South Tower. On basis of this information, I drew up the Flying Star Charts for these two Towers as shown below:

As the disaster is a human tragedy, the key to read these charts is to concentrate on the human aspects, which are the Mountain Stars on the left hand side of each box. Let us look at the North Tower. When it was built in “Age of 6” (1964 to 1984), it has the most prosperous stars 6 at the front facing the fountain, it contributed a lot of success to the building. However, today we are in Age of 7, the front is not activating good energy anymore, the most prosperous number 8 is in the SW, as there are open space on that side, the building is still doing well in money terms. However, there is a serious drawback in human terms, at the back of the building in the NW, there is the Hudson River, and the chart shows the Mountain Star 8 is there. Mountain Star 8 is the most important Star to support human aspect today. If it is in a water environment, this star will be drowned and it will cause misfortune in human aspects. So I think this is the most serious drawback that led to human tragedy to this building.

The airliner hit the building from the NE, which is also the weak spot with bad Stars 2, meaning Sickness, and the Year Stars 2, 7, 5 on September 11^th, meaning Fire Misfortune.

Now let us look at the South Tower. The front is facing Water Star 3, activated by a big open space. This is a Star of Conflict and Robbery. So the Feng Shui is not so good in the front in the NE. However, the building still has other prosperous Stars 7 and 8 in the front in the E and SE respectively. So money aspect can still do well. However, we saw similar drawbacks in the human aspects. The current prosperous Mountain Star 7 is in the South, where the building doesn’t have any Mountain support. So this configuration is “Mountain falling in water” again implying bad human aspects. The South Tower was hit by the United Airlines plane coming from the SW and W, where the stars are also bad. 6 is faded out energy, stimulated by the Earth elements of Year Star 5 and Day Star 8, and 2 and 5 spells Misfortune in the West.

So this is a brief study on the Feng Shui aspects of the September 11^th incident on basis of scanty information collected from news media and the Internet. However, accurate

Feng Shui evaluation requires accurate assessment and measurement on site. Without such opportunity, most of the above analysis can only be based on assumptions, which may be totally incorrect. The traditional Chinese fortune-telling system is called Four Pillars of Destiny. The essence is that the Chinese calendar is a calendar of elements consisting of Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood. So once any information about time is converted into the Chinese calendar, that time - the Year, Month, Day and Hour, will be expressed in terms of those five elements. Hence by looking at a person’s Chinese birth data, we can immediately understand the elemental composition of a person’s destiny. The interaction of those five elements can reveal his destiny in full detail.

Let us examine President George W. Bush’s birthday. He was born on July 6, 1946 at 7:26 a.m. This is converted to the Chinese calendar as follows:

Destiny Pillars: This chart shows President George W. Bush’s birthday in terms of the five elements. The grouping of the elements, known as the Heavenly Stems (on top) & Earthly Branches (on bottom) can then be used to describe him and predict his future.

President Bush was born on a day of Yin Metal sitting on Fire. So he is defined as a Yin Metal Person. It is worthy to note that this birthday, Yin Metal on Fire Snake, is exactly the same as the current Year 2001, which is also Yin Metal sitting on Snake. What does it mean? It reflects that he is the person in focus in 2001. Not only President Bush, two other people in focus this Year, were also born on the same Yin Metal Snake Day. One is Osama Bin Laden, the other Angelina Joli. Do you agree these 3 people occupied the front cover of most magazines this Year?

Yang Metal is compare to metal for making weapons. Yin Metal is considered as decorative Metal and refers to jewelry metal, like a necklace, bracelet, and earrings. So Yin Metal People are normally gentle, moderate and graceful.

The Day element on top (called Heavenly Stem) represents the person himself (Self element). The other elements represent his surroundings and people related to him. Now let us examine these elements surrounding President Bush and see what they symbolize.

On the Year pillar, there is a Fire element, as Fire conquers Metal, it refers to some kind of control, pressure, and discipline onto the Metal person. So this Fire represents Power, with such strong Fire showing up in the Year, obviously it shows a powerful man, a man of high status and discipline. This Fire is very strong, as it is supported by 2 more Fire element at the bottom, and President Bush is born in summer, adding strength to the Fire. So his Destiny really shows he is a very powerful man, suitable to be in politics.

Another element appearing on top is the Wood in the Month pillar. Wood is an object conquered by the Self element – Metal. So Wood symbolizes material gains and achievements. In other words, it is money. With money showing up, it means he also has a business and commercial sense. But this Wood is not very significant compared with the Fire, and no matter how strong the Wood is, it still supports Fire. As such, Fire Power is still dominating, hence is more into politics than into business. The Wood under Metal attack in this Year 2001 also reflects difficulty in money – i.e. the U.S. economy.

The Water element appearing in the Hour is an element produced by Metal, this represents his creativity and skill. The remaining are the 2 Earth elements at the bottom of the Year pillar and the Hour pillar. Earth is the producer and supporter of Metal. So we call this pair of Earth elements his Resources – it also refers to his knowledge, education, and ideas.

After understanding the meaning of all his elements, we can see President Bush’s destiny is dominated by Fire, which means power, status, and discipline. And this is exactly what he is today.

There are many different versions of Osama bin Laden’s birthday. However, after careful consideration of his background, his image and his ups and downs in the past, March 10, 1957 at about 5:00 a.m. appears to be the closest match. This is an article just speculating on the possible accuracy of bin Laden’s birthday. As such, my analysis could be totally wrong in case the birth data is not correct. Therefore I have to warn readers against taking this article as a prediction for future developments. Please just treat this piece as an exercise to enhance the understanding of the art of Four Pillars of Destiny.

The Chinese calendar is a unique tool for fortune telling as it reflects the composition of elements at the moment of birth of a person. So through examining the relationship between elements, we can read a persons fortune in detail. The system contains two parts, Destiny Pillars and Luck Pillars. Destiny pillar reflects the composition of elements at the moment of birth; it shows the in born quality of a person, his background, his personality, potentials…etc. The Luck pillar is a series of elements that a person has to travel through as he grows up. It is like a passage of life and on such a journey, a person will encounter different chances and opportunities at different periods of time. The Luck is divided into ten-year stages, each stage a person will be under the influence of different pairs of elements, which brings ups and downs to the person's life.

Let's examine what appears to be Osama bin Laden's birth data, and see how it's converted to the Chinese calendar & charts. March 10, 1957 at 5:00 a.m.

How do we read a person’s fortune based on this traditional Chinese fortune telling system, popularly known as “The Four Pillars of Destiny”? The first step is to look at the Day of birth, as the element on the Day of birth is called the “Self” element. The Self element represents the person who’s born on that day.

In the case of Osama bin Laden, it appears he was born on a Yin Metal day. Hence we can define him as a Yin Metal Person. Yin Metal is small metal, jewelry metal and decorative metal. A Yin Metal Person usually appears to be moderate & gentle, slightly feminine outlook. The other elements surrounding the Yin Metal represents people surrounding the Self, and the environment of the Self. The first thing we can notice is that all the Four Pillars are Yin elements. This shows us a person of deep hidden strength and elaborate thinking. The elements appearing on top are called “Heavenly Stems” which shows how the man appears on the surface – his superficial image. The elements underneath are called “Earthly Branches” which reflects the true inner self.

Let us examine such elements one by one, starting from the Year pillar. The first element on top in the Year pillar is Yin Fire; Fire conquers the Self element Metal. So this Fire represents control, discipline. We called it the “Power” element, as it reflects a person’s status and position. This is especially important for a political figure as status and control is the most important thing for such a person. This Power element is a Yin fire, which the Chinese called “Shar Chi” or the “Killing look”. This means a more threatening, harsh and extreme kind of Power, a Power element suitable for a Kung Fu fighter, a police chief, or a military commander.

The second element on top is Yin Water. The Self Element Metal produces Water. Hence it represents his creativity, intelligence and skill. This Water is a very important element, it not only gives bin Laden an intelligent outlook, it also serves as a protective buffer between the Fire in the Year pillar and the Self element Metal on the Day pillar. Without this Water, the Fire will attack the Metal. So the Water element actually represents his wits to control the Power so he can manipulate his forces under his fingers.

The third element on top is his Day pillar. The Yin Metal represents bin Laden himself. The forth element on top of the Hour pillar is also a Yin Metal, symbolizing his supporters and followers. As such, the Heavenly stems painted a picture of an intelligent man who can manipulate military power and has a lot of followers.

Now let us examine what is underneath in the Earthly Branches. The first Earthly Branch, the Rooster, is a stronghold of Metal; it supports the Self elements and provides a strong foundation. So it means he can establish himself with a strong foundation with followers and supporters. The second and the fourth elements are the same – the Rabbit, which are Wood elements. Wood is the element conquered by the Self Metal. Hence Wood represents his Money. The positions of these Money elements also convey a message.

The Month pillar represents Parents, and the Hour pillar represents Children or Servants. So Money appearing in these two places shows us that he has Money from a wealthy family background and he also has Money from his supporters and followers. The Day pillar is the Fire Snake, another Power element directly under him that shows that he is sitting on Power, that he's a powerful leader.

The Luck Pillars reflect his history and ups and downs in life. Being a Metal person, he will be more comfortable if he is supported by Earth elements in his Luck pillar, and he will be more aggressive, showing off his talents if there is strong Water, which is his Intelligence element. The Earth support appeared in his second Luck pillar between the ages of 11 to 21. And from the age of 21 to 31, he encountered the Luck pillar of Metal and Water, meaning more challenges, more chances to show his talent, and more friends – this is exactly the period that he was fighting Soviet soldiers in Afghanistan between the year 1979 and 1988.

Now let us examine his current Luck pillar, which started from age 41 until today. It is a Luck pillar of double Earth, Yang Earth on the Dog. Apparently the Earth elements support his Metal and he should be more relax and comfortable. This may be true if he is an ordinary merchant, however, he is a man of power and skill. So, the key to his ups and downs is more to do with his Power element Fire, and his skill to Manipulate Power Water.

As such, there are serious drawbacks in this Luck pillar. Now at the age of 44, he is just entering the period of the Dog. The Yang Earth will combine and conquer his Yin Water, resulting in less chance to use his skill and intelligence, and the Dog is considered to be the “Grave of Fire” meaning he is losing his Power.

Then what happened in September 2001? The Chinese calendar shows it is a Month of Yin Fire sitting on the Metal Rooster. On the Heavenly Stems, the Yin Fire clashed against his Yin Water and attacked his Metal-Self element. This stimulated his Water or his Intelligence element, stimulating his aspirations and fighting spirit. On the Earthly Branches, the Metal Month also gave strong support to his Water to resist the Fire. So he has to stand up to face strong challenges. The next month, October, is a Month of Yang Earth sitting on the Dog. This is exactly identical to his current Luck Pillar, where the Yang Earth took control of his Water, and the Dog puts his Fire Power into the grave. So the direct clash could be over.

“THE FLYING STARS OF WAR AGAINST TERRORISM AND ANTHRAX”

On the night of October 7, 2001, less than a month after the September 11^th terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, the U.S. launched the counter strike and started the bombing of Afghanistan. This development is an amazing match with the Chinese art of Four Pillars of Destiny and Flying Stars Feng Shui, which I have briefly explained in my previous articles on the “Attack on America & Destiny”.

In the Chinese art of Four Pillars of Destiny, this Day is called a “Total Clash” day, as there is clash both on top and bottom between the Day and the Month. On top, the Heavenly Stem of the Day is Yin Water, which is a direct clash against the Heavenly Stem of the Month, which is Yin Fire. And at the bottom, the Earthly Branch of October 7^th is Rabbit (Wood), which also is in direct clash against the Rooster (Metal) Month. In my previous article, I explained that the day of the September 11^th attack is a double Yin Fire Day. Yin Fire is explosion, so the double Yin Fire symbolizes the double attack on the Twin Towers. October 7^th, the day when the U.S. struck back is Yin Water, which kills Yin Fire, so it really is a message of counter attack to conquer the Fire that caused the damage to the U.S. on September 11, 2001.

The U.S. attack also shows up in the Flying Star charts. October 8, 2001 is the first day of a new month in the Chinese Hsia calendar, and the U.S. strike on Afghanistan commenced just one day before this new month. So there must be some changes in the Feng Shui energy, or the Flying Stars, in the new month that brought the commencement of the war. This indeed shows up on the Flying Star chart for the month between October 8^th and November 7^th. The Year and Month stars are as follows:
